The Children and Young People's Dance network is led by a consortium of Children and Young People’s Dance stakeholders from across the North. They have formed the Strategic Action Group. There are 3 co-chairs; The Lowry, NSCD and Tin Arts.


The SAG is currently made up of IVE and Curious Minds, Dance City, Cheshire Dance, Ludus Dance, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Tin Arts, The Lowry, Yorkshire Dance and 2 Independents working in the field of dance Pete Huggins (Gateway Studio Project, Gateshead) and Sarah Hall (Blackpool & Fylde Local Authority).

IVE is a social enterprise that is working to ensure a more creative future for businesses, teachers, children and young people. IVE supports the development of creativity as a transferable skill to improve employability and productivity. Connecting young people with great cultural opportunities and aiming to inspire the next generation of creative and culturally literate entrepeneurs.

Cheshire Dance has been inspiring people to create, learn and experience dance for 40 years. As Cheshire’s leading development organisation, they promote a creative case for diversity and artistic excellence in participation, CPD and performance across the county and beyond.

Curious Minds strives to improve the lives of children and young people by connecting them with the very best arts, culture and creative learning opportunities. We are proud to serve the North West of England.

Established for over 30 years Dance City is the North East’s leading development organisation for dance.

I’m a dance artist passionate about dance inspired by people, spaces and stories, making and developing real, accessible work that engages with all. I wark as the Blackpool Council Dance Development Officer and Co-Creative Director of Blue Moose Dance Company.

Pete is a dance in education consultant, dance teacher & photographer working in the North East. 



NorthWestDance: The Lowry Youth Dance Partnership works closely with many different agencies and organisations around the North West and nationally to provide and champion high quality dance in all its forms, for all children, young people, and youth dance leaders across the region; promoting increased access to opportunities, raising standards and improving progression routes. 

Ludus Dance

Ludus Dance works across Lancashire and the wider North West to champion the many benefits of dance for young people and offer the support, encouragement on opportunities essential or inspiring future generations of dance artists.

Northern School of Contemporary Dance is an international centre of excellence offering specialist, conservatoire-level contemporary dance training from it's base in Leeds. 

Yorkshire Dance is a charity which champions the value of dance and its development in Yorkshire.

TIN Arts is an innovative social enterprise that creates, inspires, delivers and manages participatory dance, arts and culture programmes for people of all ages and abilities across the North East of England. We work from our base in Durham.
