Meet The Youth Groups
Youth Dance Academy Youth Company
Youth Dance Academy Youth Dance Company are based at Holmwood School in Middlesbrough and led by Emma Beach. They are a very dedicated group who love to try new styles and work creatively together.
ArtsSpark Contemporary Dance
ArtsSpark Contemporary Dance Group are based at Darlington Civic Theatre and led by Debbie Harbin. The popular class has been running for 10 years and
enables young people to learn technique and offers regular performance opportunities.
D+ are based in Framwellgate Moor, County Durham and led by Tess Chaytor. They have been in existence since 2007 and run by TIN Arts as part of their children and young people's programme. The group is for any young person aged 13+ and has members with and without a disability.
Fylde Coast Youth Dance Company
Flyde Youth Dance Company are based in Blackpool and led by Leanne Kirkham. FCYDC is in it's 3rd year and is part of the Youth Dance Development Project run by Blackpool Council. It welcomes dancers aged 12-19 years from Blackpool and the Fylde Coast through an annual audition day.
East Riding Youth Dance County Company
ERYDCC are based in East Riding and led by Dawn Holgate. They are a youth dance project that is funded in part by the Arts Council and East Riding Council. The group meets every fortnight from October to July and participants audition for their place as part of the company. The work created is performed twice a year as part of a wider youth dance project, which includes a number of grass-roots dance groups.
Brewery Youth Dance Company
The Brewery Youth Dance Company are based in Kendal and led by Jenni Boardman. They meet once a week at the Brewery Arts Centre during term time. The group welcomes participation from anybody who wishes to join and our classes work on improving contemporary technique and creative skills.
Amicus are based in Horden, County Durham and led by Kayleigh Gage.
Amicus is a young performance group who love performing and creating together. The group is made up of dancers between the ages of 11-21 years old, all from different backdrops, different support networks and abilities.
Me2 Inclusive Youth Dance Company
Me2 are based in Leeds and led by Karen Bartholomew. Me2 is an inclusive youth dance company for young people with and without disabilities. It is run by MeshDance in partnership with Leeds Mencap. Beginning as a pilot project in 2010, Me2 is now a successful weekly, term time dance class with 15 members.
Eleven are based at Formby High School, Liverpool and led by Victoria Harrocks. They meet at least twice a week to explore Contemporary Dance, Physical Theatre, Contact Improvisation and Choreography.
